I’m glad you’re here.
Each week you’ll receive:
One practical reselling tip
One real flip from my own business
One life lesson to help with mindset and consistency
Whether you’re brand new to reselling or you’ve been doing this for years, my goal is simple:
to give you tools you can actually use — and encouragement to keep going.
Reselling Tip: How Do You Know What to Buy?
One of the questions I get asked the most is:
“How do you know what to buy?”
The first step is simple: just get started.
With anything in life, you won’t really know until you do it yourself. I always want to be in action, not just in motion.
If you’re just starting out, here’s something important to realize:
you already know more than you think.
You buy from resellers every day.
Walmart is a reseller.
Target is a reseller.
They buy items from manufacturers and resell them to you — the consumer.
So before you ever step foot in a thrift store or a yard sale, start right at home.
Look around your house for items you bought but no longer use. Look those items up on eBay and see what they’re currently selling for. If you’re willing to part with something, make that your first sale.
There’s no reason to go into debt buying inventory when you’re not even sure yet if you’ll enjoy reselling.
Starting small with items you already own teaches you everything:
How to take good photos
How to create a listing
How to choose shipping and price it correctly
How to package and ship an item
How to print a label
Then you wait for it to sell.
Reselling is a process — one you repeat over and over again.
Start with items around your house.
Build a little capital.
Use that capital to buy at garage sales.
Repeat the process.
And don’t be afraid to make mistakes — that’s the tuition for learning this skill.
Best Flip This Week

Item: Bentwood Woven Cane Outdoor Set
Purchased: $20 (Garage Sale)
Sold: $250 (Facebook Marketplace)
Time to Sell: 2 days
When I saw this set at a garage sale, I immediately knew it was a steal for $20.
I spend a lot of time researching and learning from other resellers, and one tip that stuck with me was this: woven cane furniture almost always has value if it’s in good condition — and this set was perfect.
The crazy part?
The sale had already been going on for hours and no one had bought it yet.
That’s where knowledge comes in. The more you know, the more opportunities you’ll see.
This was a quick $230 profit, and because of the size, Facebook Marketplace was the perfect place to sell it. No fees — just load it up and meet the buyer.
Simple.
Life Lesson: Consistency Wins
At almost 50 years old, I’ve learned one thing that applies to everything in life:
Consistency is the key.
Whether it’s:
Listing items regularly on eBay so the algorithm favors you
Or going for a daily walk to improve your health
Consistency beats motivation every time.
Recently, I lost 30 pounds in 3 months — not by doing anything extreme, but simply by walking 30 minutes a day, every day.
Small actions, done consistently, create big results.
Thanks for reading this week’s newsletter.
I’ll talk to you again next Wednesday at 9am EST.
You’ve got this.
